What is XIGE?

XIGE is a window manager belonging to a new generation of programs with different form, style, color and functionality, where you has the necessary, a beauty environment and the best thing, computing resources are saved for their slight feature. The possibility also opens up of forgetting the common, the routine and the past, to see now, something new.

Specification

XIGE is a window manager for X Window System, developed on linux with GPL license, but with the capacity to be executed in other specification platforms POSIX like Solaris, BSD, and other UNIX systems. It doesn't depend on extra libraries and it has been implemented in "C" from scratch. Their philosophy tries to stop the adaptation a little that at the moment has the software toward the new technologies, which have generated heavy programs, high resources consumers and an incredible capacity of discarding hardware!

2007-09-02 Coming soon 0.2 XIGE version

XIGE is so famous, its menu style has been taken by Microsoft Windows Vista . (I have not messages from the Redmond boys) ;-) Added support for gcc 4, fixed Java bugs, new appearance, and more lighter and fast.

2006-01-05 The 0.1.2 beta version it's ready!!!

i18n complete support and translated to 25 languages

Configure scripts by Autoconf and Automake

New post-installation tool, for XIGE data files, called xigewm-installer

Bug on load cursors fixed, XIGE cursors support complete.

For an Hiper-fast installation from command line type:

> tar xvfz xigewm-0.1.2-beta.tar.gz
> cd xigewm-source-0.1.2-beta/
> ./configure (NOTE: for further information ./configure --help)
> make
> make install
> xigewm-installer (NOTE: For all XIGE users)

Internationalization support (i18n) implemented for the window manager and more features

2005-04-25 The 0.1.2 version (stable alfa) it's ready!!!

Already the release 2 version 0.1 in the Download page, some general bugs fixed for the last version and added the last "xigeconfig" program (totally graphic) for quick configuration.

2004-09-01 is realeased the 0.1 version

Already is the first release of the 0.1 version in the Download page, the author had considered that in spite of to be a development version it's already stable and it can be used without problems, but he says that the second release will bring many characteristic at internal level not yet found.
